Error in ‘make depend’ November 8, 2013

I installed a program in my ubuntu 10.10, when I do ‘make depend’ then an error appears as follows :

/bin/sh: Syntax error: Bad fd number
make: *** [depend] Error 2

The error is caused by ubuntu 10.10 default setting, which uses dash instead of bash for sh command. Solution : rename the old link of /bin/sh to dash and create new link of /bin/sh to bash.

cd /bin
sudo mv sh sh_origin
sudo ln -s /bin/bash sh
